# AC33 primary reading and source checks

The complete received primary PDFs are fixed by source-members.json; only the permitted Athena source/input files enter the independent ZIP. This note specifies the parts actually used, not a claim to reproduce a full published cloud simulation.

- Chandrasekhar–Fermi1953: sectionV, pp138–141, equations158–173. The original equation169was inspected on the rendered page141because OCR drops exponents. It gives the compressive magnetosonic–Jeans quartic; equations163/165–166give the separate Alfvén pair. The original uses an adiabatic sound derivative and Gaussian magnetic units; our declared isothermal derivative and SI/velocity normalization are separately stated. The global availability of along-field unstable modes does not imply that an exactly perpendicular wavevector has the same threshold.
- Federrath–Klessen2012v1: sections2.2/2.4distinguish a density-PDF statistical theory and an isotropic magnetic-pressure extension from a strongly anisotropic mean field. The paper itself limits that statistical extension in sub-Alfvénic conditions. Section3.1contains full ideal3DMHDand isothermal closure;3.2uses stochastic OUdriving plus Fourier compressive/solenoidal projection;3.3adds sink checks. Their32-cell Jeans-scale criterion is for vorticity/field amplification in those simulations, not our8-cell stop. Their driving/sinks are not reproduced. Version1has different numerical abstract summaries from the latest abstract; use the fixedv1content rather than mix versions. Its PDF prints a2022draft date while the version stamp/submission is2012; these dates are recorded separately.
- Guszejnov et al.2020v1: sections2.1–2.2give scale-free ideal isothermal MHD, geometry-specific magnetic normalization, sink criteria and Sphere/Box initial conditions. Sections3.3–3.5and4.2distinguish a mass-weighted characteristic mass from the low-mass number distribution. The rendered original pp9–10/Figures8–10were inspected: mass-weighted percentiles can flatten with resolution while the minimum mass and low-mass population continue moving. Figure9normalizes by a highest-resolution fit proxy, not an independently known continuum limit. The authors do not conclude that ideal isothermal MHD alone reproduces the observed full IMF. Printed compilation2021and the2020v1submission stamp remain separate.

Two v1source details must not be silently repaired in a future article: the paragraph introducing Figure8names M2e5_R30, while its caption names M2e4_R10. The following dimensional example associates3e-8M0with0.01solar masses while naming M2e4_R10; directly substituting its Table1mass does not reproduce that equality. We will identify the caption/body ambiguity and avoid using this example as a universal resolution threshold. Our code’s guard and actual convergence do not depend on that number.

- Athena++commit053bc738d5c85dac717326b4338b34c7db4e715d: native input and complete pgen/regression members were read. The default rotated mode has one phase period across each box direction, so its wavevector follows directly from the rectangular box lengths. Source p0=1/gamma makes the adiabatic derivative equal the isothermal sound1; an old input comment about p0=.1is not the source initial condition. The source includes an amplitude-squared secondary seed; the analytic regression comparison is first order. We preserve this distinction and do not claim to run Athena.

Truelove1997: the original Letter has not been obtained. Two ADSrequests returned403; the publisher returned an HTML bot challenge despite a200status. That body was detected as non-PDF and is excluded from scientific inputs/public material. No challenge was bypassed. The original is a historical reference, not a completed reproduction or the sole evidence for a universal cell-count guarantee.
